F18N Lab

Building a multidisciplinary research environment that applies BIM, XR, and computational methods to architectural engineering workflows.

BIMXRComputational Design
F18N Lab

F18N Lab is the umbrella for my current research direction: using computing technology to improve architectural engineering workflows, especially where spatial understanding, data coordination, and immersive review intersect.

The lab’s recent focus is extended reality in the architectural design process. That includes practical questions about design review, digital twins, BIM-based communication, and how immersive media can support architectural education and professional collaboration.

Current priorities include:

  • BIM and XR interoperability for design review.
  • Better evaluation methods for spatial decision-making.
  • Translating technical workflows into legible, teachable systems.

This entry is the first structured project in the new collection and will act as the migration target for the broader research material currently living on the research landing page.
